Meet Our Furry Friends of the Month!
We’re passionate about animal care. We’re also passionate about sharing the stories of our amazing patients. That’s why we’re excited to showcase our Pet of the Month program.
Each month, we shine the spotlight on one of our incredible furry, feathered, or scaled friends. From heartwarming rescue stories to funny antics, our Pet of the Month program has it all.
Glenway Animal Hospital Presents
Pet of the Month:
Celeste, Finley, Lauren Bacall, Clark Gable
Celeste is our Southern belle. She came from a huge rescue of hundreds of bunnies in Texas. Celeste was extremely shy for a couple of years after she arrived in her Forever Home but has really come out of herself and even rushes to beg for treats or pets. Celeste is a big bunny with a soft thump, we think it is because she has a southern drawl.
Finley is our blind boy but has barely lost a hop. He remains the Master of All He Surveys and gives much younger Clark the what-for when Clark tries to taunt him. Finley was tightly bonded for many years to Mercy. Recently he has bonded to Celeste so we have hopes that will develop into true love.
Lauren Bacall is a bunny felon. No joke. She set the house on fire. Actual flames were involved! Fortunately the humans were nearby as was a fire extinguisher. And this is only the worst of Lauren’s crimes. Don’t even ask what happened to the urn of ashes of bunnies past. Still, Lauren is a loving bunny and always comes to snuggle with the human when the human is having a bad day.
Clark Gable is Lauren’s little brother. Their mom, Audrey Hopburn, had real class. Clark even has a black bowtie on his fluffy white chest. As the runt of the litter Clark is only about two thirds the size of his brothers and sisters. He also never quite grew into his ears or back feet. His ears drag a bit when he is hopping but he still tears around the house as fast as his extra big bunny feet will carry him.
All four bunnies were rescued by the Indiana House Rabbit Society and found their Forever Home where they can safely live long bunny lives full of salad and love.
