Max and Jenny

Max is four years old.  He was given to me for my birthday by my wonderful son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Amber.  Max was just a baby but cautiously friendly.  He is now very comfortable with me and occasionally will even do his little popcorn jump, although I dont see it as often as he gets older.  He will sit in my lap and watch television for about 20 minutes.  He loves the Big Bang Theory.

Last year Jenny came to live with us.  Jenny is three years old and is very skittish.  She lived in a home with several cats that tormented her, so she scares easily.  She and Max get along well, but she is still afraid of me, loud noises, and any changes to her environment.  Sometimes, she will take treats from me, but not too often.

Max is very protective of her.  Often he stands between Jenny and me when I feed them to keep her calm.  They are good company for one another.  Max is teaching Jenny to eat from my hand, and Jenny is teaching Max how to turn his igloo home upside down and pretend it is a boat or space ship or something she has not yet shared with me.

Jennys favorite treats are strawberries and oranges, for Max, apples and parsley.  They dont play much with toys, however, Max has a small talking duck and a stuffed penguin that he rubs noses with if Jenny is not approachable.  Chasing each other around the pen seems to be their key form of entertainment.

Both of them will be starring in my next childrens book,  Detective Max, Guinea Pig Extraordinaire.  Attached are some photos of my two little stars during rehearsal.
